This page provides a full history of the LBFCSI, which was formerly known as the LBEBC Day Care Center.
The Pag-asa Sponsorship Program, through the support of the World Vision Philippines, established a Day Care Center in 1981. The primary purpose of the Day Care Center was to put up a good feeding program and to offer a pre-school education for indigent children in the immediate community.
In 1990, the Pagasa Day Care Center was placed under the supervision of the Los Baños Evangelical Baptist Church (LBEBC). It adopted a new name – “Evangelical Baptist Church Development Center”. The center occupied two Sunday School rooms in the Kukay Memorial Hall.
The ultimate aim of the LBEBC Development Center was to lead each parent to the goal expressed in Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
Clearly, God has mandated everyone to train up a child what is right from His perspective. What the child learns, how he will be taught, and the purpose of his/her learning must be directed in a manner which is commensurate with his/her physical, social, emotional, intellectual, aesthetic and spiritual development. The instruction of the Scripture was clear. The child has to be trained in the way he/she should go.
The LBEBC Child Development Center was under the supervision of a committee composed of the following: Chairperson - Rosalina A. Andales, Vice Chairperson - Jose O. Sargento, Secretary - Ma. Josefina L. Valera, Members: Allan A. Andales (EBC Board Secretary), Wilma R. Sargento and Nora R. Nunez (Day Care Worker)
However, in May 1995, a fire demolished the church building, the parsonage, and the Kukay Memorial Hall where the Day Care Center was housed. The LBEBC Child Development Center had to rent one of the boarding houses of Dr. and Mrs. Gil Saguigit in 9732 Mt. Banahaw St. Los Baños Subdivision, Los Baños, Laguna from 1 June 1995 to 30 March 1996 to keep the Center’s operation going. Inspite of adversity, God proved His faithfulness in supplying the Day Care Center’s needs beyond expectations. The years following the fire saw a vast improvement in the physical structures of the church and the center.
On 1 April 1996 the Day Care Center transferred to a small annex in the renovated church building. When the first floor of the new church building was constructed in 1997, the Day Care Center was given two session rooms, one small room for an office, and a cubicle in the church office for the Cashier.
In 1998, the Day Care produced children who passed or even topped the entrance examinations in pre-elementary as well as elementary schools in Los Baños. Due to its growing good reputation in the community and because of the unique nature of the Day Care program, parents were encouraged to send their children to the Center.
On 21 October 1999 during the congregational meeting of the church, a resolution was made to include the operation of the Day Care Center under the By-Laws of the Los Baños Evangelical Baptist Church, speifially Article III, Section 1 (g). That article states: “SOCIAL ACTION-demonstrating the love and righteousness of God to the disadvantaged. For this purpose, the church shall operate a Child Development Center, community livelihood projects and similar projects/activities. The Center shall be called the Evangelical Baptist Church Child Development Center, a non-stock, non-profit private undertaking.”
On 31 May 2001, the Day Care Center was duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission under the name "LOS BAÑOS EVANGELICAL BAPTIST CHURCH DAY CARE CENTER, INC." with SEC. registration number A200107550.
On 1 June 2001, the Day Care Center was managed by the following officers of the Board of Trustees: President - Mrs. Rosalina A. Andales, Vice President - Mrs. Wilma R. Sargento, Secretary - Mrs. Norberta R. Dumagat, Treasurer - Mr. Efren G. Armada, Member: Dr. Jose O. Sargento, Ex-Officio Members: Miss Nora R. Nunez (Head,Day Care Worker), Dr. Silvestre C. Andales (Chair, BOE) and Dr. Pepito M. Bato (Senior Pastor)

On 5 June 2003, the Department of Social Welfare And Development (DSWD) Field Office lV in Alabang, Muntinlupa City awarded a CERTIFICATE OF ACCREDITATION to the Los Banos Evangelical Baptist Church Day Care Center, Inc. for meeting the minimum standard of accreditation in accordance with Republic Act 6972, as a 3-Star Day Care Center. The accreditation covered the period 25 June 2003 to 26 June 2006 during which time, consultation with the Department of Social Welfare and Development shall be provided and/or sought in order that standards for implementing the Day Care Service can be maintained and improved for the best interest of children. The DSWD accreditation was issued in Muntinlupa City on 25thDay June 2003 by Thelsa P. Biolina, DSWD Regional Director.
Then, the Church Board of the Los Baños Evangelical Baptist Church during its meeting on 2 September 2005 unanimously approved the following board resolutions:
RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Church Board has unanimously approved the operation of a Pre-Elementary (Nursery, Kinder, Preparatory) and Elementary (Grade I) Courses for School Year 2006-2007.
RESOLVED That the LOS BAÑOS EVANGELICAL BAPTIST DAY CARE CENTER, INC. be converted into a school and the school shall be called as LOS BAÑOS FAITH CHRISTIAN SCHOOL, INC., a non-stock, non-profit undertaking. It is a ministry of the Los Baños Evangelical Baptist Church as a SOCIAL ACTION to demonstrate the love and righteousness of God to the children and their families.
The church also authorized the preparation of a feasibility study to establish a full elementary school and to negotiate and apply for Government Permit to operate a Pre-Elementary (Nursery, Kinder, Preparatory) and Elementary (Grade I) Courses for School Year 2006-2007. The new school used the facilities that are being used by the LBEBC Day Care Center, Inc. effective 1 June 2006
On 29 September 2005, the church submitted the Feasibility Study to the Department of Education office in Sta. Cruz, Laguna. Dr. Norma C. Ladra inspected the facilities and the school site immediately. Then, on 30 September 2005, Dr. Lilia T. Reyes, Schools Division Superintendent, Division of Laguna endorsed the Feasibility Study to Dr. George R. Garma, Regional Director, Department of Education, Region IV – A, Capitol Compound, Pasig City. Then, the LBFSI was granted Government Permit ( R-IV-A ) No. K 200 s. 2006, E-184, s. 2006 TO OPERATE the N-K-P and Grades I-VI for the school year 2006-2007. The permit was given at Pasig, Philippines, on the 10th day of February 2006.
The members of the Board of Trustees for school year 2006-2007 were as follows: Mr. Renato A. Reboja - Chairman, Board of Trustees, Dr. Pepito M. Bato - President, Dr. Maria Antonia G. Tuazon - Secretary, Mrs. Norberta R. Dumagat - Treasurer, Mrs. Rosalina A. Andales - Head, Academic Affairs, Mrs. Wilma R. Sargento - Head, Support Services, Ptr. Arnulfo T. Arroyo - Head, Administration & Finance.
During school year 2006-2007, there was a complete Pre-Elementary Department (Nursery, Kindergarten, and Preparatory) and one Grade I class for the Elementary Department. There were four teachers and one teacher assistant and one hundred fifty two (152) pupils.
The 1st Preparatory Graduation Exercises was held on March 31, 2007 at the LBEBC Sanctuary with forty six (46) graduates. Dr. Pepito M. Bato was the first graduation speaker.
The LBFCSI was granted renewal of Government Permit to Operate (R-IV-A) No. K-052, s. 2007, E-038, s. 2007 to operate the Nursery, Kindergarten, Preparatory and Grades I-VI of the Pre-Elementary and Elementary Courses for the 2007-2008 school year. The permit was given at Pasig, Philippines on the 10th day of January, 2007.
The members of the Board of Trustees effective school year 2007-2009, and then 2009-2010 were as follows: President - Mrs. Joy B. Paycana, Chairman - Dr. Erwin A. Awitan, Corporate Secretary - Dr. Cleofe S. Torres, Treasurer - Mrs. Norberta R. Dumagat, Members - Dr. Pepito M. Bato (up to 2008), Dr. Aida B. Lapis ( Joined the Board in 1998), Ex-officio Members:, Mrs. Aurora B. Ani (Head, Finance), Mrs. Rosalina A. Andales (Head, Academic Affairs from SY 2006 - Present), Mrs. Wilma R. Sargento (Head, Support Services), Miss Melinda M. Joloan (Head Teacher SY 2009-2010).
The 2nd Preparatory Graduation Exercises was held on April 5, 2008 at the LBEBC Sanctuary with forty seven (47) graduates. Dr. Erwin A. Awitan was the second graduation speaker. The theme was “Onward to Excellence” which was based on Luke 2:52.
Then, Government Permit (R-IV-A) No. E-368, s. 2008 was granted on December 24, 2008 at the City of Pasig, Philippines to authorize the school to operate for the school year 2008-2009.
There were thirty six (36) pupils who graduated during the 3rd Preparatory Graduation Exercise which was held on April 4, 2009 in the LBEBC Sanctuary. Dr. Cleofe S. Torres was our speaker and she spoke on the theme “Onward to Excellence”.
Then, Government Permit (R-IV-A) No. K-147, s. 2009, and No. E- 152, s. 2009 was granted on May 8, 2009 at the City of Pasig, Philippines to authorize the LBFCSI to operate N-K-P and Grades 1-VI of the Pre-Elementary and Elementary Courses.
Today, each part of the Los Baños Faith Christian School, Inc., - the classrooms, playground, furniture, equipment, books as well as the faculty, staff, board members, LBEBC members, parents, and children are evidences of the faithfulness of our great GOD to accomplish this mandate to “ . . . raise (children) with Christian discipline and instruction” (Ephesians 6:4).
